The second performance held by the Adriatic-Ionian Theater Festival will be streamed live on Saturday 6th of March, 7 pm. The title of the play is MATER MEDEA - Special edition for the Adnich festival, produced by ITI Italia, with Roberta Quarta, Simonetta Rotundo, Matteo Mele and Samuele Zecca.
Using the words of the Roberta Quarta, "we learned about Medea and its many interpretations over the centuries. The starting point is represented by the words of Christa Wolf and Adriana Cavarero, and also of Hanna Arendt and Judith Butler. Their dense and imaginative writings are intertwined with the poetic words. The theatrical action happens during a wedding banquet. Sarcasm of every party".
Love, jealousy, passion, resentment, and desire run after each other in a curved time. It is no longer possible to distinguish past, present and future. Everything is connected. And the desire is spoiled by the thirst for power. Medea/Mother tries to escape the insult of History that for centuries has fixed her in the horror of infanticide. Her only chance is to re-tie the stories, the look that grants a poetic resistance to the world: the resistance of love - once again - misleads the power and its miserable insatiability.
Come to this banquet, recognize the smell of the party, Mater Medea invites you to resist inside the desire.
Look for you in the silence,
In the escape, in the desire that doesn’t dare,
In your rose that does not dare,
In your rose
That has just hatched
The free streaming starts here at 7 pm. Duration 90 minutes.
